The Association works closely with the Italian Parliament and Government through membership of numerous Ministerial Committees, actively participating in the drafting of sector regulations, and promoting rules to ensure maximum transparency in the construction industry. One of the key outcomes has been the introduction and renewal of the 55% tax allowance for window replacement work.
At the European level, Uncsaal participates actively in the drafting of European Union Directives impacting the building envelope sector, and in all CEN (European Committee for Standardisation) working groups related to sector products.
UNCSAAL is also represented at CEPMC (Council of European Producers of Materials for construction) through FINCO where it holds the Presidency.
The Association is also represented at FAECF (Federation of European Window Manufactures’ Associations) and Eurowindoor (European federation of manufacturers of construction glass, windows and curtain walling in metal, wood and PVC).
At the national level, Uncsaal is a member of FINCO (Federation of Products, Machineries and Services for the Building industry). In this capacity UNCSAAL works directly with the relevant Ministries to assert excellence in the building industry so that all players, from general construction companies to component manufacturers and service providers, may carry out their entrepreneurial activity on the basis of the same shared rules. As members of FINCO, UNCSAAL participates in negotiations to revise the Code of Public Procurement. Uncsaal’s Past President, Mr Libero Ravaioli, has been designated FINCO Delegate for European affairs.

Uncsaal is closely involved with UNI (Italian National Standard Body), participating in all the standardisation working groups concerned with the building envelope. UNCSAAL President, Mr Corrado Bertelli, is Vice President in charge of UNI and he is President of the UNI Building Committee.
UNCSAAL promotes MADE Expo, the International exhibition of Building, Design and Architecture.
